Carjacking story, not me
Here is a story from a gun forum that I sometimes visit. I think as the economy gets worse more of these stories will be heard.
http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=918482 "ok not sure if its ok to post this in here but i just wanted to share my story, so a couple day ago i was going to a local qt gas station here in arizona, and i was in my truck, 06 chevy silverado, lowered 20 inch rims, 2,500 stereo system, the whole works, nice truck, anyways i was pulling into the gas station and was turning my stereo down, well i guess i didnt turn it down fast enough and caught the attention of 4 guys in a car getting gas, (1 mexican guy and 3 black guys,) i pull up at the pump across from them and the 2 black guys were just starring at me non stop, that made me kind of nervous so i put my side arm in my holster so they didnt see (glock 35) and comntinued to pump my gas, well i was approached by 2 of the black guys and he told me i had a nice truck (he still could not see my side arm), well i said thanks and noticed the guy behind him being look out and looking verry nervous, he asked how much did i pay for it and i told him, he then said (how bout you give it to me!) i looked at him and said "are you serious!?" he said does it look like im playing? give me your ****ng truck!! i told him your not getting my truck!! he took one step towards me and reached for his front left pocket, i stepped over the gas hose and drew my side arm and told him he better not move an inch, he told me "***** you wont shoot me. and i said if you pull anything out of that pocket i will! and i glanced at the driver and he yelled get the **** back in the car. he then said (" i aint scared of this *****" and went to step towards me, i warned him one last time, and then out of no where 2 cop cars came roaring in with weapons drawn, and ordered me to put the gun down, i said calmly to the cops, " no disrepect but he is trying to steal my truck and he has something in his left front pocket and i will not put my ide arm down until hes secured". well one cop had a gun to the back of my head and said son if you move i will splatter your head, and i said thats fine but i will not put my side arm down sir" they hand cuffed the black guys and i emptied the chamber and took my clip out for the officer, and the other office said "got one"!! i turned around and the guy that wanted my truck had a .38 special in that pocket, the guy behind him had a .22 cal pistol. the mexican guy in the car had a saw off shotgun, the other black guy had a ounce of weed on him, so the guy with the .38 had two convictions prior for strong armed robbery and the other guy had one for breaking and entering, so 4 bad guys go down and plus one for the good guys.... sorry for the story being so long brokefbgm AKA john" |

Masked men break into family's Blue Mound home 07:37 PM CDT on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 By BLANCA CANT / The Dallas Morning News Kellie Hoehn was finishing one last chore before heading to bed early Wednesday when two men in ski masks shattered the glass on the front door of her Blue Mound home and shoved a shotgun in her face. It was the most horrific thing, she said, the scariest thing I could ever imagine. The shattering glass woke her 12-year-old son, and Ms. Hoehn told him to grab his 5-year-old sister and hide in his bedroom closet which the family had designated as a safe place for the children. One man had a pistol; the other had a shotgun and told her not to scream. But she yelled for her husband, Keith, 32. Hes got a gun, she said. As Mr. Hoehn emerged from the bedroom, Ms. Hoehn grabbed hold of the intruders shotgun and pointed it upward and away from the childrens rooms. I wasnt going to let them get to my babies, the 34-year-old mom said. No way in hell. While Mr. Hoehn wrestled with the intruders, Ms. Hoehn reached for a candle the only heavy object within reach and threw it at the man with the shotgun. Her husband grabbed the shotgun, and the struggle spilled out of the home. Mr. Hoehn shot one of the men, who had jumped into a van parked on the road near the house. Injured, that man fled on foot. The other intruder, who had been armed with the shotgun, came toward Mr. Hoehn. Ms. Hoehn said she screamed, Shoot him, shoot him, shoot him. Mr. Hoehn fired, and the man fell to the ground. When he lunged a second time, Mr. Hoehn fired again. Dakota Benoit, 20, was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he died from shotgun wounds to his chest and abdomen, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiners Office. John Pierson, 25, was apprehended by railroad police about a mile away on Burlington Northern Santa Fe property. He was trying to clean off in a fountain, Fort Worth police said. Mr. Pierson was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition Wednesday afternoon. Police said he will face charges of burglary of habitation with intent to commit another felony. According to Tarrant County court records, both men had criminal histories. Mr. Benoit had convictions for possession of a controlled substance and theft. Mr. Piersons convictions include assault with bodily injury, possession of a controlled substance, burglary of a habitation and unlawfully carrying a weapon. Mr. Pierson was released from prison in May after serving time for theft, according to Michelle Lyons, a Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokeswoman. Fort Worth police said they believe the two men were involved in another home invasion about an hour before the Blue Mound break-in. The first break-in was at a home on Calico Rock Drive about two miles away in Fort Worth. Two men entered through an open garage at about 11 p.m. Tuesday and confronted the 38-year-old homeowner and his wife. The couples children were asleep in the home. The men stole a Honda Odyssey, a laptop, a wallet, a jewelry box and a police radio, which the homeowner had because hes a member of a crime watch group. The homeowner declined to talk about the break-in Wednesday. No injuries were reported. Police said the two men drove the stolen van to the Hoehns home on Globe Avenue in Blue Mound. Investigators were trying to determine why their home was targeted. The Hoehns said they have no idea. We were just defending our family, Mr. Hoehn said. It was a nightmare. We thought we were dead. Blue Mound police Lt. Thomas Cain said it is unlikely the couple will face criminal charges. Friends and family stopped by the Hoehns home Wednesday morning to offer support. The front porch still had shattered glass on it. Mr. Hoehn was recovering from cuts and bruises and Ms. Hoehn had a sore back. I am not happy that someone is dead, Ms. Hoehn said. But I am glad that my family is alive. Staff writers Brenda Gonzalez and Debra Dennis contributed to this report. |
Re: Carjacking story, not me
I'd have shot all three of the MFs... Its time we wash some scum down the sewers....
that guy is lucky. The cops usually show up minutes late, when SECONDS count. |
Re: Carjacking story, not me
That couldda been ugly...
Why did he clear his own wep for the LEO? Seems to me they'd want it out of his hands pretty fast... You may not do it -- but They sure as hell will |
Re: Carjacking story, not me
I was in a similar situation, and the bad guy looked me straight in the face and dared me to pull the trigger.
Be warned: They aren't afraid of that gun if they know you won't use it. |

Re: Carjacking story, not me
Interesting. I have never had someone dare me to pull the trigger.
I wonder if this is a body language thing (sense an unwillingness to shoot on the part of the victim) or a calculated bluff based on the expectation that most people will not kill. |

Re: Carjacking story, not me
scary. unfortunately this kind of thing happens all the time in phx, especially south phx.
about 6 months ago my 7yr old daughter and started taking private lessons in martial arts (mix of judo/jiu jitsu/isshin ryu). it's definitely not a guarantee for safety but i feel much better knowing she will know how defend herself to a degree. i just posted a story in a different thread about a guy who became violent and threatened to kill everyone in my office because he had problems with a home equity line of credit. we will see more of this. |
